«الكاراتيه التقليدي المصري» يتقدم بشكوى رسمية ضد عضو بمجلس إدارة الاتحاد الفرنسي

The Egyptian Federation for Traditional Karate, led by Dr. Ramy El-Makawy, has lodged an official complaint with the International Federation for Traditional Karate. The complaint is directed at a dual-national member of the French Federation’s board of directors, who also holds Egyptian citizenship.
The incident occurred during the World Traditional Karate Championship, hosted in Cairo from October 28-31. On Wednesday, the French official reportedly got into a heated altercation with Major General Gamal El-Tahlawy, Executive Director of the Egyptian Federation, inside the Cairo International Stadium’s indoor hall. In front of witnesses, the official allegedly hurled insults at Egyptians, calling them “a bunch of rabble.”
The Egyptian Federation views this as a blatant and unacceptable transgression against one of its officials, especially given the individual’s dual nationality and the fact that the incident took place during a major international event hosted by Egypt, involving 46 countries and approximately 2000 competitors.
The Federation has demanded that the International Federation investigate the details of the incident thoroughly and take appropriate action in accordance with its regulations to prevent such behavior from recurring in international sports forums, emphasizing its commitment to upholding the dignity of its officials.
The championship is significant, featuring accompanying events like the International Master Course, Kids World Cup, and Clubs World Championship. Furthermore, Egypt made history by hosting the General Assembly of the International Federation for Traditional Karate for the first time, which includes elections for the federation’s president and continental federations.
