Hoffenheim welcome defending Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen to the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim on Sunday, 25 October 2026 for a Round 7 clash between top and mid-table. Kickoff is at 3:30 PM CET (2:30 PM GMT, 5:30 PM in Saudi Arabia), with German referee Jan Seidel taking charge. Live coverage across the MENA region is exclusive to MBC Action and Shahid VIP.
Predicted Lineups
Hoffenheim will line up in a 4-2-3-1 under Christian Ilzer. Oliver Baumann starts in goal, behind a back four of Mats Rõts, Koki Machida, Ozan Kabak and Vladimir Kovač. Wouter Burger and Leon Abdallah anchor midfield, with Adam Hložek, Fisnik Asllani and Alexander Prass supporting lone striker Adam Daghim.
Leverkusen respond in a 4-2-3-1 under Carles Martínez. Mark Flekken starts between the sticks, shielded by Miguel Gutiérrez, Facundo Medina, Edmond Tapsoba and Jarell Quansah. Ezequiel Fernández and Aleix García anchor midfield, with Nathan Tella, Ibrahim Maza and Moussa Diaby supporting striker Patrik Schick.
Head-to-Head Record
The two sides have met 15 times in the Bundesliga, with Leverkusen edging the head-to-head: 7 Leverkusen wins, 5 Hoffenheim wins and 3 draws. Hoffenheim have actually won the last two league meetings — 1-0 at home in January 2026 and 2-1 away in August 2025 — but Leverkusen had previously won four in a row between February 2023 and March 2024 by an aggregate of 13-4.
Hoffenheim vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction
Despite Hoffenheim’s recent run against Leverkusen, the gap in class and league position — Leverkusen 4th, Hoffenheim 14th — makes the visitors clear favourites. Schick’s clinical finishing, Diaby’s pace on the counter and Tapsoba’s defensive organisation should prove too much for an out-of-form Hoffenheim side. Our prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 Hoffenheim, with Schick to score first.
