Athletic Bilbao host Getafe in La Liga on 25 October 2026 at San Mamés. Predicted lineups, kickoff, TV channel, H2H and prediction.
Athletic Bilbao welcome Getafe to San Mamés on Sunday, 25 October 2026 for a La Liga Matchday clash that pits Edin Terzic’s attacking Basques against José Bordalás’s notoriously resolute Madrid outfit. Kickoff is at 2:00 PM CET (1:00 PM GMT, 4:00 PM in Saudi Arabia), with Spanish referee Francisco Hernández taking charge. Live coverage across the MENA region is exclusive to beIN Sports 6 HD.
Predicted Lineups
Athletic are expected to line up in their customary 4-2-3-1. Unai Simón starts behind a back four of Yuri Berchiche, Aitor Paredes, Daniel Vivian and Hugo Rincon. Beñat Canales and Ruiz de Galarreta anchor midfield, with Nico Williams and Alex Berenguer flanking Iñaki Williams behind striker Marwan Sanadi.
Getafe will set up in their trademark 5-4-1 under Bordalás. David Soria shields the goal, defended by Jean-Yves Valois, Nemanja Gudelj, Dani Carvajal, Johan Mojica and Kiko Femenía. Martin Satriano, Mario Martin, Franschou Serrano, Ramon Terrats and Yvan Azon form a compact midfield four behind lone striker Borja Mayoral.
Head-to-Head Record
The two sides have met 15 times in La Liga, with Getafe narrowly edging the head-to-head: 4 Getafe wins, 3 Athletic wins and 8 draws. Getafe won the most recent encounter 2-0 in April 2026 and have taken four points from their last two visits to San Mamés — a streak the Basques will be desperate to end in front of their own supporters.
Athletic Bilbao vs Getafe Prediction
Bordalás’s defensive discipline makes Getafe notoriously difficult to break down, even for a side with Athletic’s attacking firepower. Expect a tight, low-scoring affair decided by a single moment of quality — likely from Nico Williams down the flank. Our prediction: Athletic Bilbao 1-0 Getafe, with under 2.5 goals the value bet.
