Al-Hilal captain Salem Al-Dawsari has returned to scoring goals for Al-Hilal after a 197-day absence, successfully finding the back of the net against Qatar’s Al-Shamal in the AFC Champions League Elite.
A curious coincidence surrounds Al-Dawsari’s goal: his last goal was scored on April 13th of this year against Qatar’s Al-Sadd in the AFC Champions League Elite Round of 16. Thus, after a long scoring drought, he has returned to score against a Qatari team in the same competition.
Salem Al-Dawsari had missed the start of the season for Al-Hilal due to an injury sustained during the World Cup. He gradually returned to action, eventually becoming a regular starter for his team, and has now returned to scoring.
